It's time for Tablescape Thursday with the Stupendous Susan at BNOTP. I'm also linking to the other wonderful Susan for her Deck The Halls Party!!!
My Christmas Home Tour post also included a tablescape, so I'm moving some of that up to the top of this newly edited post! I hope that you all are wonderful and not feeling too stressed!

I added some extra jewels to the table. Such fun!
It's soooo close to Christmas! AARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!
Can you believe it? I am no where near finished with my gazillion page To Do List, but you know what? It's A-OK. Each day is a blessing and I intend to savor these delightful moments. Even if the tree's not done, all the presents aren't wrapped, etc.
Here are some sneak peeks of Christmas at the Austin House!

I'll be linking with BNOTP's Metamorphosis Monday and adding the caboose to Rhoda's Home for the Holidays, Hooked On Houses, The Nester, The Thrifty Decor Chick, and The Inspired Room , too!
Yes, I know this one above is a wee bit blurry, but it seemed so magical to me, and you could see the whole tree, glistening, all shimmer and shine. SHIMMER AND SHINE! I just had to be alliterative again!
These amber crystals are weighty and their facets twist and turn and reflect myriad hues of light jutting through the many cut sides. Prisms/refraction, what an amazing thing!
I'm in love with this wee little birdie!
This is the beautiful crystal bowl given to us by Mr. Motif's grandfather. It was actually made by HIS father. Beautiful, just beautiful. And because it is from the grandparents and constructed by his own artisan great-grandfather, this holds immense meaning, and is really a microcosm of what Christmas is about.
We went from creams and chocolate browns at Thanksgiving to cinnamon red/vermillion, copper and amber for Christmas in our dining room. The golden walls provide an excellent backdrop for most occasions, but especially for Christmas, with the reds just popping against it!
For me, TEXTURE is everything and the contrasts of the feathers and iron candlesticks, with everything else, epitomizes RUSTIC LUX interiors that make my heart go pitter patter!
These stocking holders WEIGH A TON and I love their substantial grace. They were a steal at Tuesday Morning several years ago! I thank God for the blessing of TM!!! :)
We'll have more Christmas stuff in the next several weeks, even into January when we have our big party!! It's called "The After Christmas Christmas Party Because Tom and Lana Are Too Lazy To Take Down The Tree Party." I'm not kidding. Every year we do it near the end of January. It's soooooo blaaaaahhhh in January....and I hate to be corny (and you know I am) but I love to carry the idea of that tiny Baby Jesus, King of Kings that He IS, into the New Year.
How about you?
Love, hugs and turquoise joy,
Lana
Wow Lana, what a gorgeous home. You have decorated it beautifully! I love that table and how you set it with the candlesticks and fabric. It looks like a work of art! Big smile. It is obvious you know how to decorate. I enjoyed the tour!

Beautiful...we have very similar tastes as you could have seen, if I got my post up tonight...but it will be tomorrow! ;O) Love all the shimmer. And yes, I keep my trees up until mid-January. Not enough time to enjoy them otherwise!
ReplyDeleteLana,
ReplyDeleteEverything is just beautiful. I love the stocking holders, and the way you have your table decorated with all the texture is wonderful. Great tablescape last week. Thanks for sharing and for visiting.

ReplyDeleteI love your gold swirls of ribbon. What kind of fabric is that? It's fabulous in the tree and wrapped as a bow on the stairway.
Have a Joyous Christmas ~ Maria

Thank you for your sweet note. I haven't been to Big Lots (or anywhere but Publix) in a while, and I am suffering Big Lots withdrawal. I'm sure they've got summer dishes on display.
